Do you have kids? Are you busy? Of course you are, you're a mom! And while there is no greater job in the world, we need to refresh every now and then. This post contains a few simple ideas to squeeze in some time just for you.

If you haven't guessed already, I am a mom. My kids aren't little anymore but that doesn't mean they don't keep me hopping. Not to mention, I work part-time as a substitute teacher and I have this blog, so I too, am very busy. Sometimes, I get so busy I forget to take care of myself. Anyone else?

There are enormous benefits to practicing self-care. You can reduce stress, increase productivity as well get better sleep. And I can always use more sleep. Since my oldest was born 19 years ago, my sleep has never been the same.

1. Read the Bible

This is first on the list for a reason. If we don't take time to feed our inner man, we can't properly feed others, especially our children. The Word of God can bring us peace, strength, encouragement as well as provide us with tools to defeat the enemy whenever he tries to start in.

2. Put on your favorite t.v. show

If you've got 30 minutes to an hr, put on a recorded show and just let the drifting off begin. I rather enjoy watching a comedy to relax. Laughter is the best medicine. But if you like drama, go for it. Just remember to not think. It's free brain time.

3. Brew a cup of tea

A simple cup of tea can be quite refreshing. The warm drink provides a sense of calm no matter the season. And with all the amazing benefits tea has to offer, you're doing good for your body.

4. Put on a favorite facial mask

Spa masks are such a brilliant way to take care of yourself. If you have one lying around, there you go. If not, you can quickly make one. Combine one mashed banana or half an avocado with a teaspoon of honey and leave it on for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and reveal your beautiful glowing skin.

5. DIY exfoliating scrub

I love making my own beauty products. Make a simple scrub with epsom salts or sugar and essential oils. Add a little oil if you'd like. For an excellent recipe, try my DIY Tea Tree Lime Body Scrub. It's refreshing and smells so yummy.

6. Put on your favorite playlist

Music can be such a stress reliever. If you've got some time, blast your tunes and shake that booty. Dancing not only burns calories but release endorphins for that "feel good" feeling.
